Service Pro Titans had a project this week to replace a furnace control board, also called a circuit board, in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood.

Our technician arrived at the client’s property and began a full system inspection.  First, we turned the thermostat on to test furnace operation. Next, we inspected the gas valve for proper function. The gas valve was not opening during the call for heat. We tested voltage from the control board to the gas valve. The readings showed the gas valve was not receiving proper voltage.

This issue pointed to a faulty furnace control board. The control board acts as the system’s command center. It sends signals to critical components during operation. When it fails, the furnace cannot complete its heating cycle.

With the client’s approval, we replaced the defective control board. We installed a manufacturer-approved replacement to ensure proper system performance. After installation, we tested the furnace through multiple heating cycles. The gas valve opened correctly, and the system operated as designed.
