HVAC Services in Streamwood, IL
Serving Streamwood’s original “Town of Tomorrow” neighborhoods — and everything built since
Streamwood went up almost overnight — the first 21 homes were built in 1956 at Bartlett and Schaumburg Roads, and the village incorporated the following February. Nearly 70 years later, it’s a community of almost 40,000 people, with housing ranging from those original ranch homes to newer, larger construction throughout the village. Service Pro Titans brings EPA-certified, background-checked HVAC technicians to every corner of Streamwood, matching the right heating and cooling solution to your home’s age and layout — not a one-size-fits-all fix.

Streamwood’s Trusted Heating, Cooling & Indoor Air Quality Specialists
Streamwood’s population held near 800 people scattered across dairy farms as recently as 1950 — then, within roughly two decades of builders breaking ground in 1956, the village had grown past 18,000 residents and five square miles. That kind of rapid, single-generation build-out means a large share of Streamwood’s furnaces and heating systems and air conditioning were installed in a compact window, and many are now well past the age where efficiency drops and breakdowns become more common.
Winters here bring the full Chicagoland swing — January highs averaging just 32°F — while July regularly pushes past 85°F with humidity to match. As the village has filled in with larger, newer homes alongside its original 1950s ranches, we also see more households adding ductless mini-split systems to condition additions or rooms the original ductwork was never designed to reach. Streamwood also sits along the edge of the 572-acre Poplar Creek Land and Water Reserve, and homes on that lower-lying, creek-adjacent side of the village benefit from a closer look at indoor air quality and equipment placement as part of any new install. We serve the neighboring suburbs too, from Hoffman Estates and Elgin to Bartlett and Hanover Park.

Why Streamwood’s Original 1956 Slab Homes Need a Different HVAC Approach
Streamwood’s very first houses weren’t built board by board on-site — in 1956, L H Builders shipped factory-made, insulated wall and roof panels by rail from National Homes Corporation in Indiana, and a local contractor assembled the first 21 homes at Bartlett and Schaumburg Roads in under two weeks. Marketed as a “Town of Tomorrow” to returning WWII and Korean War veterans, those homes — and many like them that followed as the village incorporated in 1957 and grew past 18,000 residents within two decades — were built on concrete slabs rather than over basements.
That matters for HVAC: a slab-built home has no below-grade mechanical room to house a furnace or run ductwork through, so heating and cooling equipment typically lives in an attic, closet, or crawlspace instead — a very different setup than the basement-centered systems common elsewhere in Chicagoland. Decades later, with newer, larger homes (many with full basements) now built in among Streamwood’s original ranches, two houses on the same block can need completely different equipment approaches. We check which era of home we’re walking into before we recommend a repair or a replacement, not after.
